Issues with Classic Regulators

Nearly every other subsea regulator on the market uses the same technology:

• One sensing spool valve
• Spring-loaded shear seals

That classic approach is inherently problematic because it creates:

• Oscillation and overshoot due to the large inertial mass and friction.
• Excessive flow forces that cause inaccuracy.
• Poor flow efficiency — typically much lower than advertised.
• A relief function that is not fast-acting.
